In a world where my senses overload
my body, brain and emotions feel like they might implode.
not being able to cry and scream, you do realize I am not what I seem.
Behind this mask I display for your comfort, making my life exhausted from the effort.
Hoping you don’t see me glitch. I walk out the door and flip the switch.
Automated survival to get through the day, by following along with what you say.
My insides contemplate this internal debate, I am not what you think during this state.
Overwhelming emotions I am unable to process and understand.
You can relate through struggles, as if, automatically planned.
Manually I reciprocate but I am unable to connect, so I withdraw and disconnect.
Searching in determination for understanding, only to be met in a world that is so demanding.
Noise, Sight & Sound make my brain shut down.
Trying so hard to be functional but my body is different and unconventional.
Life is so fast pace, sometimes I wonder if I can keep up with this race.
